U.S. forces began new strikes on IRGC targets in Iran as the Strait of Hormuz confrontation resumed

U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran at noon Eastern on Tuesday, U.S. Central Command said.
The command said the action followed recent attempted IRGC attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed in the region.
The Associated Press reported the new operation as hostilities resumed after roughly a month without sustained U.S. military action in Iran. CENTCOM had said Sunday that it struck rocket launchers on Larak Island. AP reported that Iran then launched missiles at U.S. sites in Jordan and that those missiles were intercepted.
What is known now
CENTCOM identified the targets only as IRGC sites. It did not give a target count, name the weapons used, report casualties or damage, or say when the operation would end in its initial statement.
That leaves the immediate scope unclear. The economic risk runs through the Strait of Hormuz, where further attacks on commercial vessels could disrupt a major oil shipping route and add pressure to energy markets.
