Saudi Arabia holds off a response after attacks shut the East-West Pipeline

Saudi Arabia said it will not respond at this stage after attacks on its East-West Pipeline, giving Iraq time to act on drones that Riyadh says came from Iraqi territory.

The Saudi Energy Ministry said Friday that it shut the pipeline as a precaution after multiple attacks a day earlier. It reported injuries but gave no count, damage estimate or export figure. No restart time was given.

The Foreign Ministry said Saturday that Iraq's prime minister requested time to prevent further attacks from Iraqi territory. Riyadh said it supports that effort while reserving the right to protect Saudi territory and facilities. Neither statement identifies who operated the drones.
