OECD adds a US side by side election to the GloBE information return
The form changed Friday. The OECD added a side by side safe harbor election to its GloBE Information Return, which now applies to fiscal years beginning on or after December 31, 2025.
An electing group marks the choice in the general section. If the safe harbor applies, the filing entity omits the high level summary and some corporate structure items. The OECD says a new XML schema will follow, with a cutoff date still to be set in its user guide.
The US Treasury said Friday that the election covers the Income Inclusion Rule and Undertaxed Profits Rule. Countries are still adopting the package through their own laws.
