White House revokes four Lebanon aviation-security determinations dating to 1985
The White House revoked four presidential determinations that had governed aviation restrictions involving Lebanon since 1985.
The order is immediate.
Presidential Determination No. 2026-25 says restrictions created in 1985 and amended in 1992, 1998 and 2007 are no longer needed to protect aircraft operating to or from Lebanon against unlawful seizure. It revokes all four determinations in full.
The transportation secretary must now remove any inconsistent regulations, rules or orders. The one-page document does not set a date for commercial service or identify which carriers could use the change.
