Seventy-five private construction sites in South Korea will face inspections for unlawful subcontracting and unpaid bills from October 19 through November 13, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced Sunday.
The operation targets the Gyeongsang region. It extends a wider campaign that runs from October 12 through December 31 and already includes 275 selected public construction sites.
The ministry said 15 enforcement staff from its headquarters and five regional offices would work with the Korea Construction Equipment Association. Sites reported for unlawful subcontracting or payment arrears will be included so inspectors can compare complaints with actual construction arrangements. The release announces an inspection program, rather than findings against the private sites selected.
