China says Trump and Xi told officials to implement a $30bn tariff arrangement

China's government says President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump instructed their economic teams to implement eight outcomes from Xi's state visit to Washington.

The official readout lists a trade council, a $30bn reciprocal tariff reduction arrangement and an extension of earlier consultation outcomes. It does not identify an effective date, covered products or how the $30bn figure is allocated.

The account is unilateral.

Beijing also says the next bilateral artificial intelligence dialogue will occur in November and that the countries will create a communication channel for AI emergencies. The readout does not describe that channel's authority or procedures.
