Broadcom's AI chip revenue reached $16.7bn as total sales rose 86 percent
Broadcom's AI semiconductor revenue reached $16.7bn in its fiscal third quarter, up 221 percent from a year earlier and 54 percent from the prior quarter. The company projects $21.7bn for the line in the fourth quarter.
Total revenue rose 86 percent, from $15.952bn to $29.591bn. Semiconductor solutions supplied $20.839bn, up 127 percent, while infrastructure software revenue rose 29 percent to $8.752bn.
The profit base moved too. Broadcom reported $13.088bn of net income under generally accepted accounting principles, up from $4.140bn, and diluted earnings of $2.68 a share against $0.85.
Fourth-quarter revenue guidance is about $34.8bn. The board also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.65 a share, payable September 30.
