Astrana says callers spoofed its number and private data was accessed

Astrana Health says callers impersonating company personnel spoofed its main corporate telephone number to seek access to its systems. The company believes private or confidential server data was then accessed or acquired without authorization, according to its Form 8-K.

The filing is under Item 1.05. Astrana determined the incident was material on September 22 because the data may be sensitive. It is still assessing whether patient, employee, provider, business, financial or intellectual-property information was accessed, acquired or removed.

The company says it reset credentials, restricted remote-access tools, restored some systems from clean backups and notified law enforcement. It cannot yet estimate the full impact or costs. Astrana currently does not expect a material effect on its financial condition or results.
