A third person has been booked over the armed robbery on Ichabod Avenue in Lehigh Acres, and the Lee County jail record shows the three cases have not gone to the same court, because one of the three is sixteen and his file sits in juvenile court

A third person has been booked into the Lee County jail over the armed robbery on Ichabod Avenue in Lehigh Acres, and the county's own booking record adds something the coverage so far has not: the three cases are not all in the same court.

Willie Keshawn Bell, 22, was booked at 4.03 on Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office record shows. He is held on four felony counts, all recorded as arrests by the Lee County Sheriff's Office and all listed against a single circuit court case: aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, armed burglary of a dwelling, and robbery with a firearm. Bond is recorded as not set on each one. Two probation violation counts on older cases are recorded alongside them. He was in custody when the record was read on Friday evening.

Ivan Tyrek Prudent, 22, was booked at 3.53 on Wednesday morning on the same four counts, under a separate circuit court case number, also with bond not set on each. A charge of driving while licence suspended or revoked and a further probation violation are listed against him as well. He was also in custody when the record was read.

Both adult files carry the same next hearing date, the morning of 22 September.

The third booking is different. It was made eighteen minutes before Prudent's, on the same Wednesday morning, and it carries the same four counts. But every count on it is recorded with a court location of juvenile court, against a juvenile case number, with a hearing listed for 8.30 that same morning. The listed date of birth makes that person sixteen. He was released from the jail at 8.07 that morning, four and a half hours after being booked.

This desk is not naming him. The outlet that first reported the third arrest named him alongside the two adults and did not report that he is a minor or that his case is in juvenile court. Both of those are in the agency's own record.

The account of what is alleged to have happened was reported by Tyler Watkins at Gulf Coast News, drawn from the sheriff's office arrest reports. According to those reports, the victim was invited to a home on Ichabod Avenue, was asked whether he had his gun on him and put it on a table, and had it taken from him. The arrest reports state that several people came out of a room, surrounded him and beat him at gunpoint, and took a games console, a phone and money. They state that he was told he would be killed if he resisted, and that he was eventually told to drive away, after which he went to a friend's house and called law enforcement.

None of that has been established. It is what deputies wrote in the reports filed to justify the bookings, and this desk has not seen those reports itself. The sheriff's office says so on the same page that carries the bookings: its arrest data has no connection to a finding of guilt or innocence, and does not reflect how any charge is finally disposed of.

The agency's record lists two of the three at an address on Ichabod Avenue itself. Neither man has been tried, and no lawyer for either is named anywhere this desk could reach.
