Kendall Brandt of Gulf Coast News reported that a Lee County deputy struck Da Barber Shop in Lehigh Acres during a pursuit that ended with an arrest.
Brandt reported that deputies said the pursuit began after they saw a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Palm Beach Boulevard. It continued from Fort Myers into Lehigh Acres and ended near the Bealls Center, where a deputy vehicle hit the business.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office charge record lists three accusations under Circuit Court case 26CF017550: leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, fleeing or eluding at high speed or with disregard for safety, and a third or subsequent violation of driving while a license is suspended or revoked. The record listed the arrested person in custody Wednesday night. The charges have not been adjudicated.
Gulf Coast News reported that sheriff's office leaders said the agency has insurance coverage and will work to cover repairs to the barbershop.
