The Estero stretch of Interstate 75 is open again, with the left lane roadblock at mile marker 123 carrying a clearance stamp of a quarter to eight, and by mid morning not one Lee or Collier entry on the state dispatch board was still open

The Estero stretch of Interstate 75 is clear.

The crash logged at 7.12 a.m. on the southbound carriageway at mile marker 123, the one whose dispatch remarks read roadblock left lane, carries a clearance stamp of 7.45 a.m. on the Florida Highway Patrol dispatch board. It was open for about thirty three minutes. The stamp was identical on three readings taken this morning at 9.04, 9.08 and 9.09 a.m.

That closes out the entry this site reported at a quarter past seven, when the remarks on it had escalated from the left shoulder to a travel lane.

A mile south, the hit and run crash at mile marker 122 remains cleared, with the 6.55 a.m. stamp and the roadway clear note it has carried since before seven.

The third entry from this morning needs a plainer accounting. The 6.59 a.m. crash, the one this site first placed on the southbound carriageway and then corrected after the board moved it to the Corkscrew Road southbound entrance ramp, is no longer on the board. It was not there on any of the three readings. This desk did not see a clearance stamp go on it, because the row itself was gone, and a live dispatch log drops entries as well as revising them. What can be said is that it is no longer listed. What happened to it is not something the record shows.

One new entry opened while the earlier ones were being checked, on the opposite carriageway and about eight miles north. A crash on Interstate 75 northbound at mile marker 137 in Fort Myers was logged at 8.53 a.m. and updated at 8.59 a.m. On the readings at 9.04 and 9.08 a.m. its clearance column was empty. On the reading at 9.09 a.m. it carried a clearance stamp of 9.09 a.m. It closed out while this desk was looking at it.

As of a few minutes past nine, no entry in Lee County or Collier County is open on the state board.

What the board still does not carry is most of what matters. There is no injury information on any of these entries, no count of vehicles, no description of them and no account of any of the crashes. No person is named on the record. No agency has published a statement that this desk could locate.

A clearance stamp is worth reading narrowly. It records that the dispatch entry was closed out. It does not describe the road afterwards, and a queue that built through the morning peak takes longer to drain than an entry takes to close.

All three readings returned a populated grid, of seventy four, seventy two and seventy rows statewide. That check matters because a parse that returns nothing looks like a quiet morning rather than a failure, so the row count was confirmed before the county filter was believed.

The clock needs the same note as the earlier briefs. The board prints its timestamps on a twelve hour clock with no marker for morning or evening. This is the morning: of the timestamp cells on the seventy four row board, ninety carry an hour of eight and fifteen carry an hour of nine, the hours these readings fall in, and none anywhere reads thirteen or above.

Mile marker 123 is the Corkscrew Road interchange. Mile marker 137 is in Fort Myers, north of the Caloosahatchee.
