Two more Southwest Florida restaurant locations have closed, Fort Myers News-Press dining reporter Robyn George reported.

Gulyas-Factory and Amy's Winehouse served their final customers at 3816 Chiquita Boulevard in Cape Coral on August 29. Doug's Seafood at 3411 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs announced its permanent closing on August 31.

No public court filing, regulator order or other primary document announced either closing. The dates and permanent status come from the businesses' announcements as reported by George.

When Gulyas-Factory and Amy's Winehouse closed

The Cape Coral restaurant combined Hungarian and Austrian food with a wine-bar concept. George reported that the owners opened the location on Valentine's Day in 2022, initially pairing Gulyas-Factory with the Art Cafe before converting that side into Amy's Winehouse.

The operators posted that August 29 was their last day. The report gave no reason and identified no reopening plan.

When Doug's Seafood closed in Bonita Springs

Doug's Seafood had operated at its Bonita Beach Road address since 2013. George reported that new operators took over the restaurant and seafood market in summer 2024 and announced the permanent closing on August 31.

Their announcement thanked customers but did not state a reason for the decision or identify a replacement business.

The News-Press roundup also included the August closing of a Cape Coral Moe's Southwest Grill. Money & World covered the Quality Fresca Chapter 11 case and its Southwest Florida closures on August 18, so that already reported location is not counted again here.
