The IRS expanded its Business Tax Account platform for summer 2026, covered by Ed Zollars at Current Federal Tax Developments. The agency set out the changes in Fact Sheet FS-2026-11. Designated officials can now download Notice CP575, the notice of a new employer identification number, and present it at banks in place of Letter 147C. The account also carries a growing library of digital IRS notices, including CP081B, CP211A, and CP134R. Eligible taxpayers can submit payments toward an offer in compromise. Business Tax Account is a self-service portal for authorized users at certain entity types. Access still turns on the user role tied to the entity. The rollout is incremental. The IRS frames the work as part of a shift away from paper correspondence.
