United Rentals raises its 2026 revenue outlook to at least $18bn after a record third quarter
United Rentals expects to book at least $18bn of revenue this year. The Stamford, Connecticut equipment rental company raised its 2026 range to between $18.0bn and $18.2bn, from $17.5bn to $17.8bn, in results filed with the SEC on Wednesday.
Third-quarter revenue rose to $4.89bn from $4.23bn. Net income climbed 31 percent to $920m, or $14.77 a share, against $10.91 a year earlier.
Specialty rentals did most of the lifting. Rental revenue in that segment grew 34.7 percent to $1.70bn, while the general rentals business grew 8.8 percent. Chief executive Matthew Flannery pointed to customer backlogs and momentum across large projects as support for the higher guidance, which also lifts the adjusted EBITDA range to between $8.3bn and $8.4bn.
