Stanley Black & Decker agrees to sell a $300m mower business without disclosing price
Stanley Black & Decker signed a definitive agreement to sell its Excel Industries business and certain Hustler brand assets to Bad Boy Mowers.
The company did not disclose a purchase price. Excel primarily sells professional gas powered ride on and zero turn mowers and is expected to generate about $300 million of revenue in fiscal 2026.
The sale still needs regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. It stays in continuing operations until closing.
Stanley Black & Decker said it does not expect the transaction to dilute adjusted earnings per share, but that is a company forecast rather than a closing condition.
