The SEC counted 208 US initial public offerings in the first half of 2026, up from 180 a year earlier. Those deals raised more than $137bn, against more than $27bn in the first half of 2025, according to the agency's market statistics update.
Money rose much faster than deal count.
The number of IPOs increased about 16 percent, while proceeds rose nearly 400 percent. Follow-on registered offerings also increased: 557 deals raised more than $111bn, compared with 505 deals and nearly $84bn a year earlier.
The SEC put those changes at about 10 percent in deal count and 33 percent in proceeds. The data describes completed capital raising. It does not measure the returns investors received after the offerings.
