Oscar Health raised its full-year outlook for earnings from operations to $600 million to $800 million, up from its previous range of $500 million to $700 million. Both endpoints moved.
The insurer also lowered its expected medical-loss ratio to 81.0 percent to 82.0 percent from 81.5 percent to 82.5 percent. A lower ratio means a smaller share of premium revenue is expected to go toward members' medical claims and quality improvements.
Oscar kept its revenue range at $18.7 billion to $19.0 billion and its selling, general and administrative expense ratio at 15.6 percent to 16.1 percent. The company filed the update before its investor day on Wednesday.
