A $15.5bn investment programme will expand Hyundai Motor Group's operations in India through 2032, the group said in a Tuesday announcement. The commitment spans 2026 to 2032 and includes manufacturing, research facilities, local suppliers and new mobility businesses.

The group plans a separate Indian investment entity to coordinate the programme. About $700m is earmarked for its research centre, including a vehicle testing track. Manufacturing expansion covers Hyundai Motor India and Kia India.

The spending is still planned.

The announcement gives no annual timetable or quantified target for additional jobs. Although announced Tuesday, the commitment remains relevant to the group's expansion: it sets a seven-year funding envelope and identifies the operations intended to receive it.
