Hurco returned to profit in its fiscal third quarter, earning $2.3m against a $3.7m loss a year earlier. Diluted earnings were $0.35 a share.
Orders moved faster. New orders rose 25 percent to $51.4m, while sales and service fees increased 3 percent to $47.3m. Orders grew in every region, including 37 percent in the Americas and 68 percent in Asia Pacific.
Gross margin reached 28 percent, up from 20 percent. The filing attributes most of the improvement to machine sales volume, a mix weighted toward higher-performance equipment and price increases, with tariff refunds making a smaller contribution.
The nine-month result remains a $3.5m loss. Hurco reported $52.1m in cash and no debt at July 31.
