GE HealthCare agreed to buy SOFIE Biosciences from Trilantic North America for $945m cash, adding a network that manufactures and distributes short-lived PET imaging drugs.

The deal is not closed.

SOFIE operates 15 contract-manufacturing sites and 21 cyclotrons across the United States. The acquisition would also give GE HealthCare domestic rights to FAPI-74, a Phase III PET radiotracer. GE HealthCare already holds rights outside the United States.

The companies expect to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions. GE HealthCare said SOFIE would join its Pharmaceutical Diagnostics business and continue supplying products from other radiopharmaceutical providers. Its forecast that the deal will add to revenue growth, adjusted margin and adjusted earnings per share in the first full year is a company estimate, not a guarantee.
