SEC and CFTC push the new Form PF compliance date to July 2027
The Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission moved the compliance date for the 2024 Form PF amendments from October 1, 2026 to July 1, 2027.
That is nine more months. The joint final rule was filed for public inspection Wednesday and is scheduled for publication Thursday.
Form PF is the confidential report filed by certain SEC-registered advisers to private funds. The affected group includes advisers to hedge, private equity, real estate, liquidity and venture capital funds.
The agencies are still considering a separate 2026 proposal that could raise the filing threshold, remove some reporting obligations and streamline others. The extension lets advisers continue using the current form while that review proceeds.
