Australian securitizers held A$176.053bn of residential mortgages at the end of June, up A$4.780bn or 2.8 percent from March, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Thursday.

Mortgages carried much of it. Total assets rose A$8.019bn, or 3.5 percent, to A$239.370bn.

Loans to private nonfinancial companies increased A$2.671bn to A$38.580bn, a 7.4 percent rise. Other household loans edged up 1.8 percent to A$12.095bn.

Funding expanded as well. Domestically issued long-term asset-backed securities rose A$5.581bn to A$214.660bn, while offshore asset-backed securities increased A$245m to A$1.566bn.
