AeroVironment revenue rose 6 percent as funded backlog reached $1.5bn

AeroVironment reported first quarter revenue of $480.5m, up 6 percent from $454.7m a year earlier, in an SEC filing Wednesday. Funded backlog stood at $1.5bn on August 1, up from $1.2bn at April 30.
The loss narrowed. The defense technology company reported a $5.1m net loss, or $0.10 a share, against $67.4m and $1.44 a share one year earlier. Gross margin rose to 26 percent from 21 percent.
Full year guidance is unchanged. AeroVironment expects revenue of $2.125bn to $2.225bn and net income of $10m to $27m for fiscal 2027.
