Lee County storm statements warned of gusts up to 50 mph through 1:15 p.m.

A second National Weather Service Special Weather Statement followed the first at 12:46 p.m. Thursday. It covered coastal and inland Lee County and expired at 1:15 p.m. No Lee or Collier alert remained active immediately afterward.

A second National Weather Service Special Weather Statement for coastal and inland Lee County expired at 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

The statement followed an earlier one that expired at 12:45 p.m. Radar showed strong thunderstorms moving northwest. Both statements warned that wind gusts could reach 50 mph, enough to knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

The second statement named Cape Coral, Burnt Store Marina, Suncoast Estates and North Fort Myers among the Lee County locations affected. No Lee or Collier alert remained active after it expired.
