The Florida Highway Patrol has a crash open at the Immokalee Road ramp onto Interstate 75 northbound in Naples, and the state has not yet recorded on its own board whether anything there is blocked.

The state dispatch board logged the incident at 6.49 p.m. on Tuesday in Collier County and stamped it a second time at 6.57 p.m. The location cell places it at the Immokalee Road entrance to the interstate northbound at 111. Exit numbers on Interstate 75 in Florida follow the mile markers, which is the exit 111 interchange on the north side of Naples.

The roadblock field on the entry reads unknown. That is the state's field left unfilled, and it is reported here as exactly that. It is not a statement that lanes are closed and it is not an all clear.

Two direct readings of the board by this desk, at six and at eight minutes past seven on Tuesday evening, both return the entry with no third timestamp on it. The third timestamp is the field the board uses to record clearance. On the state's own record the incident was still open at eight minutes past seven.

The first capture of this row, taken by this desk's five minute monitor at 6.54 p.m., placed it on the interstate itself, northbound at mile marker 111. A capture ten minutes later carries the location moved to the Immokalee Road ramp, with the coordinates moved with it. The incident number and the times are unchanged through all of it, so this is one crash whose position the state refined, not two.

The times on that board print on a twelve hour clock with no morning or afternoon marker, so the printed field alone cannot say which half of the day an entry belongs to. Two separate readings settle this one in the evening. The monitor first saw the row four minutes after the printed 6.49, at 6.54 p.m. Eastern. The direct reading at 7.08 p.m. returned a board whose newest entries statewide were stamped 7.07 and 7.06, within about a minute of the reading.

The hour is most of why this one is worth posting. Immokalee Road at the interstate is one of the heaviest junctions in Collier County, it is the way North Naples reaches the highway, and this is the back half of the evening peak. A driver heading that way in the next little while may want another route onto the interstate, or room in the schedule for a queue on the ramp approach.
