I-75 overnight work closes a southbound ramp at Collier Boulevard starting Monday

Overnight construction begins Monday at Interstate 75 and Collier Boulevard.

The Florida Department of Transportation says the southbound I-75 on-ramp from northbound Collier Boulevard will close for paving during overnight work from 8 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Friday. Layza Pinero Resto reported the schedule for Gulf Coast News.

Drivers traveling north on Collier Boulevard to I-75 southbound will need to make a U-turn, return south and use the new loop ramp, according to the FDOT Collier County RoadWatch.

FDOT also lists nighttime lane closures on northbound and southbound I-75 over Collier Boulevard for widening and paving. Intermittent lane closures are expected on Collier Boulevard while crews continue concrete, barrier and bridge work.

The schedule may change because of weather or underground conditions.

What changes for drivers

Exit 101 will remain usable, but the overnight ramp closure changes how northbound Collier Boulevard traffic reaches southbound I-75. Drivers should allow extra time and follow the posted work-zone route from Monday night through early Friday.
