The Florida Highway Patrol has the left lane of Interstate 75 southbound blocked at mile marker 112 in Naples after a crash logged during the morning peak, and the entry is still open on the state board

The Florida Highway Patrol has a crash open on Interstate 75 southbound at mile marker 112 in Naples with the left lane recorded as blocked.

The call was logged at 8.28 a.m. At 8.36 a.m. the entry was still on the state board with no second stamp and no clearance stamp, and the Highway Patrol had retyped it from a vehicle crash to a vehicle crash with roadblock. Its remarks read that the left southbound lane is blocked.

Mile marker 112 is a mile north of the Immokalee Road interchange at exit 111. There is no exit at 112, so this is mainline carriageway between Immokalee Road and the Bonita Beach Road interchange at exit 116, and a driver who has already passed Immokalee Road has no exit before it.

A second crash was logged a mile south at mile marker 111 at 8.29 a.m., a minute after this one and on the same southbound side. It carried no remarks and no roadblock. It was on the board at 8.31 a.m. and it was gone by 8.36. That is all that can be said about it.

This is separate from the crash on the southbound exit ramp at mile marker 111 earlier this morning, which the board now records as clear and which this site covered.

Nothing else has been made public. No agency has released a vehicle count, an injury count, a name or a cause. The Highway Patrol has published no statement on any of it and neither has the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Nobody has been accused of anything.

No local outlet appears to have carried these. Gulf Coast News has no dated traffic blotter up for August 27 at its usual address, and WINK News could not be checked in this run because its feed returned nothing parseable, so it is unchecked rather than silent.

The usual jurisdiction limit applies. The Highway Patrol board carries state roads. It does not carry Collier County or City of Naples streets, so those are unreported rather than confirmed clear.

There is no active National Weather Service alert for Collier County, so no weather condition was in effect on those roads and none is offered as a cause.
