Florida Highway Patrol says Interstate 75 northbound has reopened at mile marker 51 on Alligator Alley after a crash

Interstate 75 northbound has reopened at mile marker 51 on Alligator Alley after a crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol's live incident board.

The state board still listed the northbound roadway closed at 5:54 p.m. Friday. At 6:01 p.m., the same record's remarks had changed to “ROADWAY CLEAR.” The board supplies no separate clearance time, so the reopening can be placed only inside that seven-minute observation window.

The record is at mile marker 51 on the Collier County stretch of the interstate, close to the eastern end of the Alley. Drivers approaching from Broward County may still encounter a residual queue. This is the long gap between the Snake Road and State Road 29 interchanges, with no nearby parallel route once a driver is on the crossing.

The live Highway Patrol board does not say how many vehicles were involved, whether anyone was hurt or what caused the crash. The road status is the only fact being reported here; no responsibility is assigned to anyone.
