The call was logged at 1.07 p.m. The patrol typed it as a vehicle crash with injuries and a roadblock, and its board reads that the right lane is blocked for emergency vehicles and that drivers should use caution. At 1.49 p.m., forty two minutes later, that status was unchanged.
Mile marker 108 is between the Pine Ridge Road interchange at exit 107 and the Immokalee Road interchange at exit 111. Those two are 3.6 miles apart and there is no exit in between, so a northbound driver who has already passed Pine Ridge Road has no way off before Immokalee Road. Airport Pulling Road and Tamiami Trail are the alternatives for that stretch.
The Highway Patrol's own call type is the only basis for saying anyone was hurt. No agency has released an injury count or severity, a vehicle count, a vehicle type, a name or a cause. The Highway Patrol has published no statement and neither has the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Nobody has been accused of anything.
One caution on the record. The Highway Patrol logs a later timestamp when it closes its own dispatch entry, and that is not the same thing as a road reopening. Nothing here says the lane has reopened.
