The Florida Highway Patrol dispatch board carried a crash at Everglades Boulevard North and Randall Boulevard in Golden Gate Estates from 7.37 this evening, and the call came off the board about twenty minutes later.

The call was received at 7.37 and a unit was recorded dispatched at 7.45. No unit was ever recorded on scene while the row was up.

What changed in between was the state's own description of it. When the row first appeared it was typed an ordinary vehicle crash and its remarks field read UNKNOWN ROADBLOCK, which is the state recording that it did not know the traffic effect. Within eight minutes the type had been changed to a crash with a roadblock and the remarks had been changed to ROADBLOCK IN THE AREA, USE CAUTION. The time the call was received and the coordinates were identical throughout, so this was one call the state upgraded rather than two separate incidents.

Then it went. The row was on the board at 7.47 and gone by 7.58, and on the two readings after that the words EVERGLADES BLVD N do not appear anywhere in the page, so this is the state having stopped publishing the call rather than a failed reading at this end.

That is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up as good news. This board publishes no clearance column of any kind, which was checked on this evening's readings, so a row disappearing is the end of publication and carries no statement about whether the junction is open. Anyone driving through it shortly should still expect the possibility of crews on the shoulder.
