Equinor booked a strong quarter as oil and gas prices held high. The Norwegian energy company reported adjusted operating income of USD 11.48bn for the second quarter of 2026, in results dated July 22, alongside net income of USD 4.84bn and net operating income of USD 12.99bn. Equity production rose 3 percent from a year earlier, to 2,165,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day. Higher prices did the rest. Anders Opedal, the president and chief executive, said the quarter let the company capture value from those prices.

The board set a cash dividend of USD 0.39 a share. It also opened a third share buy-back tranche of up to USD 1,125m, part of a USD 3bn repurchase program the company plans to run across 2026.
