The National Weather Service has extended its Coastal Flood Statement for coastal Collier County through noon Saturday.

The risk remains active. The Weather Service expects isolated minor coastal flooding through Saturday morning, with some water possible on low-lying roads and property in the affected coastal areas of Collier County.

The update replaces the statement that had put the local risk through Friday evening. It also covers mainland Monroe County and coastal parts of Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Drivers should avoid any roadway covered by water. Water depth and road damage can be difficult to judge from inside a vehicle.
